The inflation rate in Central Visayas for January 2022 further accelerated to 5.0 percent which was higher compared to last year of the same period at 0.9 percent. The inflation in Central Visayas for December 2021 went up to 4.6 percent which was higher than the 4.5 percent annual increase in November 2021. In December 2020, inflation was at 0.9 percent. In the year 2020, the registered marriage in the Philippines reached to 240,775 which was around 55.7 percent to the total 431,972 marriages occurrence in the year 2019. This showed that the number of marriages in 2020 decreased by 44.3 percent from 2019. Meanwhile, Central Visayas reported marriages in 2020 reached only to 18,882 or 52.6 percent to the 35,924 registered marriages in 2019. This means that the number of registered marriages in 2020 in the region declined by 47.4 percent compared with the number of registered marriages in 2019. (See Figure 1 and Figure 2.) PSA RSSO7 & Siquijor participates in the conduct of Pilot Geo-tagging of Missing Building Structures
The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office 7 (PSA - RSSO7) along with Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office participated in the conduct of Task Force Training on Pilot Geo-tagging of Missing Building Structures from the Processed Post- Census Maps but covered in 2020 CPH Forms 2 and 3. It was a two-day training conducted by the Census Planning and Coordination Division (CPCD) of PSA Central Office last 3 to 4 February 2022. This activity aims to complete the integration of census data and geospatial information collected during the conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing. Based from the preliminary results of the nationwide 2021 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE), Central Visayas accounted a total number of 78, 419 establishments which were in operation in 2021. Among all regions, Central Visayas ranked fourth with the highest total number of establishments following National Capital Region, CALABARZON and Central Luzon. The Philippine Statistics Authority- Regional Statistical Services Office 7 will conduct the Women and lnformation and Communications Technology (lCT) Development lndex (WIDI) Survey starting 31 January until 26 February 2022, including Saturdays and Holidays. A total of 2,517 randomly selected sample households in the region will be interviewed and it will be using the Computer-Assisted Personal lnterview (CAPI) mode of data collection. The Philippine Statistics Authority Central Visayas is currently conducting the January 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2021 Family lncome and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 2. The FIES Visit 2 is a rider questionnaire to the January 2022 LFS. Hired Statistical Researchers are deployed to conduct the survey to the 10, 079 sample households in Central Visayas. This undertaking is to gather data on family income and expenditures survey and patterns in the Philippines. For the year 2020, registered births by usual residence of the mother in Region VII reached to 128,152 which contributed to 8.4 percent to the total 1,528,739 registered births in the Philippines. The region ranked 4th in all regions with highest number of reported births in the country, next to Central Luzon with 179,607 and followed by region V (Bicol Region) 96,634. (See Figure 1.) The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is one of the nationwide household surveys undertaken quarterly which provides up-to-date information on the Philippine labor force and its characteristics. This survey gathers data on the demographic and socio- economic characteristics of the population and aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market. From the preliminary result of the July 2021 Labor Force Survey (LFS), Central Visayas has 5,544,000 total population of 15 years old and over wherein 59.8 percent were engaged in the Labor Force also known as the Labor Force Participation Rate (Table 1). A Glimpse on the Preparation of the  Provincial Product Accounts Information Dissemination
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Central Visayas, together with PSA Northern Mindanao and PSA MIMAROPA, attended the five-day writeshop on 15 to 19 November 2021. This was facilitated by the PSA Central Office (CO) in preparation for the first Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) Data Dissemination Forum. The said activity was conducted virtually and was attended by the Chief Statistical Specialists, PPA assigned personnel, Information Officers, Information Systems Analysts, Web Managers, and PPA hired Contract of Service Workers from both the regional and provincial offices. Philippine Statistics Authority Central Visayas conducted the Dissemination Forum to present the 2018-2020 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) of the Provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) on 01 to 03 December 2021. Central Visayas is one of the pilot regions for the PPA in 2021. Starting this year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will annually release the provincial level economic performances following the identified pilot provinces and HUCs. The Philippine Statistics Authority is enjoining all agencies of the government, Local Government Units, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and subnational levels to actively participate and support the 32nd National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration this October 2021. Pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by President Corazon C. Aquino on 29 September 1990, declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month. The NSM is annually observed nationwide. It aims to: (a) promote, enhance and instill awareness and appreciation on the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of the society; and (b) elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
