PSA Siquijor sets to celebrate the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) in October 2022
The Philippine Statistics Authority is enjoining all agencies of the government, local government units, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and subnational levels to actively participate in and support the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration in October 2022.
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, “Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month,” the NSM is annually observed nationwide. The NSM aims to: 1) promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of the society; and 2) elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
This 2022, the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) celebrates the 33rd National Statistics Month with the theme, “Boosting the Country’s Recovery with Informed Decisions, Better Policies” which emphasizes the critical role of statistics in crafting the most appropriate decisions and policies that are needed to boost efforts for recovery. As the country’s recovery continues to take off, public and private sectors both play important roles by providing and producing the right data, actively participating in economic activities, and making informed decisions out of relevant available information. One of the biggest activities of this 33rd NSM Celebration is the 15th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) on October 3-5, 2022 at Crown Plaza Manila Galleria in Ortigas Ave. cor. Asian Development Bank Ave., Quezon City
With this, the PSA is encouraging the local government units, national government agencies and the general public to participate in the celebration of the 33rd NSM nationwide. Several lined-up activities to the month-long celebration includes: conduct of statistical/trivia quiz, capacity building: lecture, information dissemination on basic statistics, and infographics making contest among others.
