As of 01 May 2020, the population of the municipality of Lazi, including Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates and missions abroad is 22,488 persons based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). The population for 2020 has increased by 1,998 persons from the population of 20,490 in 2015. It is also more than 466 compared with the population of 20,024 in the 2010 Census of Population and Housing. In view of the gradual re-opening of educational institutions for face-to-face classes, the Philippine Statistics Authority, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Siquijor-PSO) has collaborated with the Department of Education (DepEd), Division of Siquijor to strengthen the implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in the Province of Siquijor. Refresher Training on “Basic Civil Registration and Proper Filling-Out of Civil Registry Forms”, particularly in the Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) and Certificate of Death (COD) was scheduled to enliven the knowledge earned quite sometime. The Province of Siquijor recorded an increase of 6.8 percent in May of 2022. This is the highest recorded inflation for the province since January of 2019. This was 0.9 percent higher in April 2022 with an inflation of 5.9 percent. The inflation in April of the prior year was at 3.9 percent.
