The Philippine Statistics Authority conforms to the Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular 19 s 2016, on the Equal Opportunity Principle (EOP) of no discrimination practiced in terms of gender, civil status, disability, religion, ethnicity or political affiliation in the selection of employees in the training programs. Thus, Vehicle Administration and Housekeeping Training for drivers and utility workers was being initiated by PSA, RSSO 7 through the initiatives of CRASD Chief Edwina M. The PSA Siquijor and Negros Oriental conducted a joint refresher training on the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) and the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) 30 March 2022. Participants of the province of Siquijor attended the one-day training through face-to-face at Dapdap Sunsit Grill, Pangi, Siquijor with all the six (6) LGUs being represented while PSA Negros Oriental has hybrid training setup with some participants attending face-to-face at Southview Hotel, Dumaguete City and the rest joining online through Zoom. The conduct of the refresher training aims to strengthen the stakeholder’s knowledge about PPA and the PSIC and to present the LGU Establishment Data (LED). A workshop in filling-out the LED form was conducted to supplement the compilation of PPA. In line with the Philippine Statistcs Authority’s campaign to improve Civil Registration, PSA aims to register the 2million unregistered individuals in the country and 599 of these are from the Province of Siquijor. Philippine Identification System Birth Registration Assistance Project (PhilSysBRAP) was officially launched virtually in Region VII on 21 February 2022 with Director II Fred S. Sollesta, Project Director as the Resource Person. The activity was spearheaded by RSSO 7 Regional Director, Engr Ariel E. The 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) culminates the 6-year theme “We Make CHANGE Work for Women” with a sub-theme “Agenda ng Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Siquijor has joined with the rest of the government agencies in observance of the National Women’s Month celebration and to support the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) in celebrating the gains and be proactive in preventing backsliding from what we have achieved in gender equality and women’s empowerment.
