Statistics on Maternal and Infant Deaths in Central Visayas, 2020

At national level, there are 16,885 registered infant deaths. Across regions in the country, top three regions with highest number of registered infant deaths were Region IV-(CALABARZON), National Capital Region (NCR), and Region III (Central Luzon) respectively. Meanwhile, Central Visayas ranked fourth with1,376 or 7.3 percent in terms of highest of registered infant deaths. (See Figure 1)

Implementation of the CRS Online Appointment System

Starting 23 May 2022, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Civil Registration Service (CRS) Outlet in Tagbilaran City, Bohol will implement the CRS online appointment system for clients requesting the copy issuance of civil registry documents (Birth, Marriage, and Death Certificates) and certification (Negative Certification, Certificate of No Record of Marriage or CRS Form No. 4 – CENOMAR, and CRS Form No. 5 – Advisory on Marriages).


Registered marriages in 2020 at 161

One hundred sixty-one (161) couples tied the knot in the province of Siquijor in 2020, of which the municipalities of Siquijor (capital) and Lazi registered the highest number of marriages at 44 and 34, respectively, thus accounted for 27.3% and 21.1%. The municipality of Maria registered the least number of marriages at 16 or 10% of the total number.
