Registered Marriages by Place of Occurrence
At a national level, a total of 294,069 registered marriages were recorded for January to November 2024. Central Visayas has reported 18,844 or 6.41 percent of the total registered marriages in the Philippines. Among all regions, Region VII ranked fifth in terms of the highest number of registered marriages in the country.

Registered Marriages by Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas
In Central Visayas, Bohol contributed the highest number of registered marriages with Bohol with 5,455 or 28.95 percent Second in rank was Cebu with 5,409 or 28.70 percent, followed by Negros Oriental with 4,858 or 25.78 percent, of the registered marriages. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the least number of registered marriages occurrence with 236 or 1.3 percent only. On other hand, for Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), City of Cebu had the highest number of marriages with 1,460 or 7.75 percent, City of Lapu-Lapu with 885 or 4.70 percent, and City of Mandaue with 541 or 2.87 percent. Moreover, the combined percent share of all HUCs in Cebu is 15.3 percent of the total registered marriages in the region.


Registered Marriages by Month in Central Visayas
From January to November 2024, Central Visayas recorded the highest number of registered marriages in the month of February with 3,394. Meanwhile, the month of November had the least number of registered marriages with 9.



Explanatory Notes:
The data on the number of marriages presented in this release were obtained from the vital events registered, either timely or belatedly, at the appropriate Office of the City/Municipal Civil Registrar throughout the country and subsequently submitted for encoding to the Office of the Civil Registrar General through the Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The information presented includes marriages that occurred from January to November 2024 based on data files received by the PSA - Civil Registration Service (CRS) from the PSOs and has undergone initial processing as of 28 February 2025. Thus, the figures presented herein are still provisional and may differ from the final count. (1)
NOTES:
(1) Figures are results of actual registrations without any adjustment of under-registration. Civil Registration is a continuous process. Hence, there is a need to establish certain cut-off period.
