Registered Death by Place of Occurrence
At a national level, a total of 417,859 registered deaths were reported for the month of January to August of the year 2022. Central Visayas contributed to 7.2 percent of the registered deaths in the country. Furthermore, the region ranked fifth in terms of the highest number of the registered deaths recorded.
Registered Death by Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas
In Central Visayas, a total number of 30,000 death were registered in 2022 for the month January to August. Cebu Province contributed the highest number of registered deaths with 10,538 or 35.1 percent. Second in the rank was Negros Oriental with 6,857 or 22.9 percent, followed by Bohol with 6,259 or 20.9 percent registered deaths occurrence in the region. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the least number of marriages occurrence with 606 or 2.0 percent only. On other hand, for Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Cebu City had the highest number of deaths with 3,433 or 11.44 percent, Lapu-Lapu City with 1,361 or 4.5 percent, and Mandaue City with 946 or 3.6 percent. Moreover, the combined percent share of all HUCs in Cebu is 19.1 percent of the total registered deaths in the region.
Registered Death by Month with Daily Average in Central Visayas
Central Visayas recorded the highest number of deaths in the month of January with 5,760 or 19.2 percent with a daily average of 186 deaths per day. Meanwhile, month of August had the least number of registered deaths with 818 or 2.7 percent and recorded a daily average of 26 deaths per day.
Registered Death by Sex in Central Visayas
There were more male registered deaths with 16,635 or 55 percent compared to female with 13,365 or 45 percent of the total registered deaths in the region for the month of January to August 2022.
Registered Deaths of Male by Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas
Central Visayas recorded a total of 16,635 registered deaths among males for the month of January to August 2022. Cebu with 5,762 or 35.0 percent, followed by Negros Oriental with 3,842 or 23.0 percent and Bohol with 3,435 or 21.0 percent. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the least number of registered deaths with 551 or 2.0 percent. On the other hand, for Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Cebu City contributed 1,942 or 12.0 percent, Lapu-Lapu City recorded 758 or 4.0 percent and Mandaue City having the least number of registered deaths with 551 or 3.0 percent.
Registered Deaths of Female by Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas
For the month of January to August 2022, Central Visayas recorded a total of 13,365 registered deaths among females. Cebu with 4,776 or 36.0 percent, followed by Negros Oriental with 3,015 or 23.0 percent and Bohol with 2,824 or 21.0 percent. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the least number of registered deaths with 261 or 2.0 percent. On the other hand, for Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Cebu City contributed 1,491 or 11.0 percent, Lapu-Lapu City recorded 603 or 4.0 percent and Mandaue City having the least number of registered deaths with 395 or 3.0 percent.
