Bohol ranked 3rd in the number of registered births
For the second quarter of 2022, Bohol ranked third in Central Visayas in the total number of registered live births. There were 3,729 registered live births in the province from April to June 2022, which translated to 14.2 percent of the total registered live births in Central Visayas. (Figure 1)
Fewer registered live births in 2022
Preliminary count of registered live births in the second quarter of 2022 recorded lower than the count in the same quarter of 2021. Live births in Bohol decreased by 30 or -2.4 percent, from the record of 1,273 in April 2021 to 1,243 in April 2022. For the month of May, live births decreased by 120 or -9.0 percent, from 1,338 in 2021 to 1,218 in 2022. Lastly, for the month of June, live births also decreased by 4 or -0.3 percent, from 1,272 in 2021 to 1,268 in 2022. (Figure 2)
2nd highest number of deaths in the region
Among the four (4) provinces in Region 7, Bohol had the second highest number of registered deaths in the second quarter of 2022, the same as in the previous quarter. There were 2,589 registered deaths in the province from April to June 2022, which translated to 19.9 percent of the total registered deaths in Central Visayas. This also translated to an average of 28 deaths per day. (Figure 3)
June 2022 posted the highest number of deaths
Preliminary count of registered deaths in Bohol dropped in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the count in the same quarter of 2021. Although deaths in the province increased by 69 or 8.7 percent, from the record of 789 in April 2021 to 858 in April 2022, deaths in the month of May decreased by 31 or -3.4 percent, from 925 in 2021 to 894 in 2022. Deaths also decreased by 180 or -17.7 percent, from 1,017 in June 2021 to 837 in June 2022. (Figure 4)
Bohol ranked 3rd in the number of registered marriages
Like in the previous quarter, Bohol placed third among the four (4) provinces in Central Visayas in the total number of registered marriages in the second quarter of 2022. There were 2,279 registered marriages in the province from April to June 2022, which represented 20.7 percent of the total registered marriages in Region VII. (Figure 5)
April had the lowest number of marriage registrations both in 2021 and 2022
In Bohol, preliminary count of registered marriages in the second quarter of 2022 was recorded at 2,279, which was higher than the same period in 2021 with 1,926. Marriages increased by 109 or 27.5 percent, from the record of 397 in April 2021 to 506 in April 2022. In May, marriages increased by 74 or 8.0 percent, from 924 in 2021 to 998 in 2022. Marriage registrations also increased by 170 or 28.1 percent in June, from 605 in 2021 to 775 in 2022. Overall, for the second quarter in 2021 and 2022, May was the most popular month for couples to walk down the aisle. (Figure 6)
