The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Central Visayas will be conducting the 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI). The annual survey will collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance, and trends of economic activities of the formal sector of the economy for the year 2022. Specifically, the results of survey will be used in constructing national and regional income accounts of the Philippine economy and in formulating and monitoring plans and policies in the attainment of national and regional economic goals. The survey also aims to determine and compare regional economic structures and performances, and analyze the performance and contribution of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to the total economy.
In Central Visayas, there are 4,018 samples for ASBPI. PSA Central Visayas field offices hired a total of 40 statistical researchers to do the data collection. Schedule of the distribution of questionnaires will be on 17 April 2023 to 19 May 2023. Meanwhile, schedule for the collection and field editing of questionnaires will be on 24 April 2023 to 23 June 2023.
Sample establishments are given multiple options on how they can respond to the survey. They can either (1) use the online questionnaire available at https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph (2) utilize electronic copy of the questionnaire either in portable document format (.pdf) or Excel (.xlsx) file format or (3) accomplish the printed copy of the questionnaire.
In line with this, PSA Central Visayas enjoins all the establishments to support the nationwide conduct of 2022 ASPBI by providing the required information. Authorized PSA interviewers will visit establishments to distribute and collect the questionnaire. In the case where face to face collection is not possible, options to provide information thru online is available using the link: https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph.
Respondent establishments are assured that data furnished to PSA shall be kept strictly confidential in adherence to Section 26 of RA 10625.
