Cebu City, Philippines – On October 31, 2024, the Cebu Provincial Statistical Office successfully hosted the "Data-Driven Financial Literacy: Inter-Unit Statistical Contest and Lecture" at the Martina Sugbo Center. This engaging event served as a culmination of the 35th National Statistics Month celebration, centered around the theme, "Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.
The day began with an exciting series of game contests that fostered teamwork and creativity among participants from various units. This was followed by an enlightening lecture in the afternoon, where experts Roxan L. Mujeres from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Riod T. Torremonia from Bureau of Treasury, and Karen Cabuwagan from Bank of the Philippine Islands, shared insights on the importance of data literacy in today’s digital landscape.
Attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to enhance their financial literacy skills while embracing the power of data and statistics. The event underscored the significance of equipping individuals and organizations with the tools needed to navigate an increasingly data-driven world.
