The economy of the City of Mandaue grew by 7.6 percent in 2023 amounting to PhP 117.99 billion. This was slower compared to the previous year’s growth of 9.1 percent. (Figure 1)

Among the 16 industries, Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles had the largest share with 30.2 percent. This was followed by Manufacturing with 24.8 percent share and Financial and insurance activities with 11.2 percent share. (Figure 2)

The City of Mandaue ranked  as the sixth largest economy among the provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities in Central Visayas, with 8.5 percent share to the total Gross Regional Domestic Product of PhP 1.38 trillion in 2023.
