In line with the Philippine Statistcs Authority’s campaign to improve Civil Registration, PSA aims to register the 2million unregistered individuals in the country and 599 of these are from the Province of Siquijor. Hence, PSA hired Birth Registration Agents to carry out its intention.

To equip the hired Birth Registration Agents and to guarantee the success of the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducts training on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics which were also joined by our PBRAP Focal Persons, PhilSys Focal Persons and the Chief Statistical Specialists of each province in Region VII. The training was also attended by key officials and was headed by our Regional Director Engr. Ariel E.Florendo. 

The three (3) day training which started from March 15-17 was held at the Golden Prince Hotel in Cebu City. The trainers were none other than our most competent leaders, our Chief Statistical Specialists, our Chief Admin Officer, Statistical Specialist and the Registration Officers. The topics were discussed in depth, and every law related to Civil Registration was elaborated to ensure that the participants in the training, especially the hired BRA’s and PhilSys Focal Persons understood and can clearly discuss the rules and regulations of Civil Registration.

 Needless to say, the training not only creates camaraderie, but it also creates a team that is working toward a common goal, as demonstrated on the second day of training when the admin organized a get-together dubbed as “ Fellowship Night” that was attended by COSWs and regular employees, all of whom are working together to make each of their teams a winner. The success of the three (3) day training, will without a doubt, lead to the Philsys Birth Registration Assistance Project’s success.
