The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region VII conducted a three-day Second Level Training for the 2018 July Labor Force Survey (LFS) with Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 1 data processing at Alta Garden Resort and Convention Center, San Isidro Baclayon, Bohol last 25 – 27 July 2018.

Participants of the training were the focal persons of the four (4) provinces of Region 7. Each province sent two (2) representatives for the data processing training. Trainers for the said training were SrSS Myrna Trinidad T. Cataluña and SuSS Felida Generoso.

The training focused more on the FIES processing and a few on LFS processing. The trainers first discussed the LFS Manual Processing wherein they shared with the group the common errors of each province. Then the trainers shortly visited the different columns of the accomplished LFS questionnaire and shared some possible errors and the possible solutions that might appear on a particular item. At the end of the LFS manual processing training, the trainers shared the new LFS Machine Processing System that will be used first on the 2018 July LFS round.

The remaining days were focused on the FIES manual processing discussion. FIES questionnaire was discussed item per item, tackling on the possible errors that might crop up during the processing and what are the possible solutions for the case. Each province then raised some issues and concerns which were addressed by the trainers one-by-one. The training ended with the participants ready and eager to face the challenges ahead for the actual data processing on their respective offices.
