Lazi, Siquijor, 06 February 2024. The Municipal Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board of the Local Government Unit of Lazi in the province of Siquijor convened last 06 February 2024 at the Lazi Multi-Purpose Center in preparation for the 2024 CBMS operation in the said municipality.
Prior to the convening proper, Hon. Phil Moore D. Largo, the municipal mayor issued Executive Order No. 05, Series of 2024, an order organizing the Lazi Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board and defining the composition and functions of the council members.
The honorable mayor presided the convening and expressed his gratitude upon knowing that his municipality will now be included in the 2024 CBMS rollout and further added that the he would have wanted to participate in the previous 2022 CBMS but was not able to do so due to budgetary constraints. The convening was also attended by Engr. Johanes Paulus V. Jumadla, MPDC as the lead core team of the CBMS and heads and representatives from the different departments such as LCR, MSWD, Budget Division, Assessor’s Office, RHU, DRRM, MAO, LGOO. Representatives from the Philippine National Police, Lazi Police Station, the Department of Education, president of the Association of Barangay Captains in the municipality and the private sector were also present.
During the convening, overview and objectives, scope and coverage of the 2024 CBMS, its legal bases, data privacy and confidentiality of information were discussed by Srss Jill Bernadette C. Abing and SS II Rosario S. Atay. It was followed by the discussion of the roles and responsibilities of the members of the MCCBs as per CBMS Council Resolutions Nos. 1 and 2. It was also included in the convening the possible assistance that will be provided by the board for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the CBMS operation in the locality.
