The Philippine Statistics Authority, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office deployed 106 hired field interviewers in the province of Siquijor for the conduct of the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-based Monitoring System (CBMS) on July 15. Prior to that date is a series of Provincial and Municipal Trainings conducted for these field interviewers, to be equipped with knowledge on the census concepts and proper way of interviewing through the use of tablets.
On July 1, which is the start of the simultaneous Municipal Trainings across the province of Siquijor, the Municipality of Larena held a short kick-off and caravan in support of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. This was held together with the 50th celebration of the July 2024 Nutrition Month. The caravan runs from Barangay Sabang to Barangay Sandugan of this municipality to widely disseminate and to solicit support in the conduct of this gigantic undertaking, which involves two (2) major statistical activities integrated into one (1) major activity.
During the program held at Queengate Center, Larena, Siquijor, the fourteen (14) hired field interviewers of this municipality was formally introduced. They were given time to further introduce themselves and indicate where their barangay or enumeration area assignments are.
Cyrus Vincent M. Calibo, Municipal Mayor of Larena, Siquijor reiterated to have a successful conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS in the municipality of Larena and he believed that success is a collaboration of efforts among stakeholders and in general, of all the Larenians. As he further believed that this will serve as the driving force for government’s social and economic development plans, policies and programs that would benefit every Larenian.
