Registered Marriages by Place of Occurrence
At a national level, a total of 356,839 registered marriages were reported for the year 2021. Central Visayas contributed to 9.24 percent of the registered marriages in the country. Furthermore, the region ranked fourth in terms of the highest number of marriages recorded.
Registered Marriages by Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas
In Central Visayas, a total number of 32,977 marriages were registered in 2021. Cebu Province contributed the highest number of registered marriages with 13,614 or 41.28 percent. Second in the rank was Negros Oriental with 6,920 or 20.98 percent, followed by Bohol with 5,669 or 17.19 percent registered marriages occurrence in the region. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the least number of marriages occurrence with 221 or 0.67 percent only. On other hand, for Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Cebu City had the highest number of marriages with 3,702 or 11.23 percent, Lapu-Lapu City with 1,659 or 5.03 percent, and Mandaue City with 1,192 or 3.61 percent. Moreover, the combined percent share of all HUCs in Cebu is 19.87 percent of the total registered marriages in the region.
Registered Marriages by Month and Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas
In 2021, Central Visayas recorded the highest number of marriages in the month of June with 4,151 marriages. This translates to a highest daily average of 138 solemnized marriages. Meanwhile, month of August had the least number of registered marriages with 1,466 and recorded a daily average of 47 marriages.
Registered Marriages by month in Central Visayas for the year 2020-2021
In 2021, Central Visayas recorded a higher number of registered marriages at 32,977 than in 2020 with only 18,882 registered marriages. This resulted to an increase of 14,095 or 74.65 percent change. Between the two years, for the year 2020, the month of January had the highest number of registered marriages with 3,480 while the month of April had the lowest number of registered marriages with 81. On the other hand, for the year 2021, the month of June had recorded the highest registered number of marriages with 4,151 while the month of August reported the least registered marriages with 1,466.
