The Philippine Statistics Authority Central Visayas will be conducting the 2021 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), one of the designated statistical activities of PSA that generates essential statistics for economic planning and analysis. It is to be conducted nationwide this April 2022. The reference period for the survey will be the year 2021. In this round, the 2021 Survey on Information and Communications Technology (SICT) is a rider to this survey. In Central Visayas, there are 3,634 samples for ASBPI and 1,630 for SICT. PSA Central Visayas field offices hired a total of 54 statistical researchers to do the data collection. Schedule of the distribution of questionnaire will be on 18 April 2022 to 18 May 2022. Meanwhile, schedule for the collection and field editing of questionnaires will be on 25 April 2022 to 24 June 2022.
The ASPBI aims to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance, and trends of economic activities of the formal sector of the economy for the year 2021. The data collected from the 2021 ASPBI will serve as the bases in the formulation of policies and economic development plans. Specifically, the survey results will be used in constructing national and regional income accounts of the Philippine economy; determining and comparing regional economic structures and performances; conducting market research and feasibility studies; and updating of the sampling frame for establishment-based surveys.
Sample establishments are given multiple options on how they can respond to the survey. They can either (1) use the online questionnaire available at https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph (2) utilize electronic copy of the questionnaire either in portable document format (.pdf) or Excel (.xlsx) file format or (3) accomplish the printed copy of the questionnaire. For safety against COVID-19, all involved personnel in the distribution and collection of questionnaires are to strictly adhere precautionary measures such as frequent hand washing, wearing of face masks and physical distancing.
PSA Central Visayas enjoins the public to support this survey and encourages the sample establishments to provide truthful, complete, and accurate information. Respondents are assured that individual data furnished by the respondents shall be kept strictly confidential in adherence to Section 26 of RA 10625.
