Siquijor, Philippines – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Central Visayas successfully held its Assessment and Evaluation Workshop of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Field Operation and 2025 Regional Planning Workshop (RPW) from 10-12 December 2024, at E.l. Suites ( El Pergentina Holiday Beach Resort), Siquijor, Siquijor. With the theme “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit PSA,” the workshop gathered PSA leaders and staff across Central Visayas to evaluate accomplishments, address challenges, and set strategic directions for the coming year.

The workshop commenced on 10 December 2024 with a vibrant opening ceremony. Siquijor’s Statistical Specialist II, Rizalyn Teodora G. Postrado, led the opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Siquijor Hymn, played through an audio-visual presentation. Supervising Statistical Specialist (Officer-In-Charge), Joselito C. Maghanoy, delivered the welcome remarks, followed by inspirational message from PSA Regional Director, Ariel E. Florendo. A heartwarming audio-visual presentation showcased the 2024 achievements, particularly the successful conduct of the 2024 Census of Population and Housing (POPCEN) and the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).

The second day featured a mix of plenary sessions, breakout discussions, and interactive activities focusing on critical topics such as statistical operations, civil registration, budget utilization, and risk assessment planning. Each province shared best practices and innovative strategies. Siquijor highlighted the unique strengths and challenges of a small provincial statistical office, while Cebu and Bohol showcased effective strategies for resource management and field operation adjustments.

 

On the final day, participants engaged in team-building activities as an effort and reaffirmation of their commitment to PSA’s mission of delivering accurate and reliable statistics. Closing remarks by CSS Ariel E. Fortuito emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration, and continuous improvement in achieving PSA’s goals for 2025.

 

Beyond technical discussions, the event fostered camaraderie through team-building activities and cultural exchanges, underscoring the PSA Central Visayas’ dedication to collaboration, innovation, and excellence as it prepares for the year ahead.
