In view of the gradual re-opening of educational institutions for face-to-face classes, the Philippine Statistics Authority, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Siquijor-PSO) has collaborated with the Department of Education (DepEd), Division of Siquijor to strengthen the implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in the Province of Siquijor. This partnership aims to accommodate teachers, administrative staff, students and their family members by bringing PhilSys closer to them, ensuring safe and convenient PhilSys registration within school premises.

In this collaborative effort, the PhilSys Registration Team (PRT) facilitated the conduct of Step 2 Registration or the validation of demographic data and capturing of biometric information of target population five (5) years old and over.

An onsite registration was conducted in both public and private schools as follows:

As we geared towards digitalization, PhilSys makes it easier for the younger generation and Filipinos to gain access to government services such as opening of bank accounts, admission in schools, and social protection programs such as healthcare and education.

Aside from conducting institutional registration in schools and other public and private offices, the PRT is also conducting mobile registration by barangay to ensure that more Siquiijodnons have access to PhilSys.

In this time of pandemic, PSA ensures strict adherence to health and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) such as social distancing, administration of health survey forms, checking of applicants/personnel body temperature, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), disinfection of equipment, barriers, chairs, and common use supplies, among others.
