22 January 2024, Siquijor. A momentous milestone between the Philippine Statistics Authority Siquijor Provincial Office and the four (4) Local Government Units of Siquijor province, namely Enrique Villanueva, Larena, Maria and San Juan as the former turns over the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System data to these participating municipalities. The simultaneous data turn over ceremony took place at FIG Sunset View Resort, Maite, San Juan, Siquijor. This significant event marks a crucial step for these LGUs towards evidenced-based planning and policy making.   

The ceremony commenced with an inspiring audio visual message of National Statistcian Clare Dennis S. Mapa and a message from Regional Statistical Services Office 7, Regional Director, Engr. Ariel E. Florendo emphasizing the importance of data in shaping policies and program implementations for the improvement of their communities. The highlights of the 2022 CBMS was presented by Supervising Statistical Specialist/Officer-in-Charge, Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy wherein a total of 13,265 responding households, with a number of 49,837 household members in 74 participating barangays of these four municipalities, placing emphasis on indicators aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   

Present during this event were Mayor Cyrus Vincent M. Calibo of the municipality of Larena, Mayor Roselyn T. Asok of Maria, Mayor Wilfredo Q. Capundag, Jr. of San Juan and Hon. Belinda S. Inao representing Mayor Nale Vincent S. Masayon of the municipality of Enrique Villanueva. Together, they accepted the symbolic token of responsibility signifying the importance of these data for bettering the lives of their residents. Following the formal signing of the Data Turnover Agreement, the four (4) Municipal Planning Development Coordinators presented their respective plans and programs utilizing the 2022 CBMS data and placing emphasis on the security of data in adherence to the Data Privacy Act of 2012.  

Also present during the ceremony were Engr. Cary S. Flores of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and Mr. Kirk Philip T. Matas of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
