Siquijor Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) Convenes its Third Quarter Meeting for Calendar Year 2024

Siquijor’s Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) convened for their regular third-quarter meeting on 18 July 2024 at the LGU Larena SB Session Hall in North Poblacion, Larena, Siquijor. Engr. Jason D. Manos, the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, presided over the meeting alongside Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy, (Supervising Statistical Specialist) Officer-in-Charge of PSA- Siquijor who serves as the PSC’s Vice Chairperson. The meeting saw active participation from heads and representatives of various provincial government agencies, local government units, and academic institutions who are all members of the PSC.

 

The agenda included the following topics:

  • A presentation on LGU-Larena's programs, projects, and accomplishments for the fiscal year 2023-2024, delivered by Engr. Christine D. Masayon, Assistant to the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator.
  • Updates on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) by Ms. Rod Marsell B. Larot, PSA Information Officer I and PhilSys Focal Person.
  • An update on the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) by Ms. Cherry Rose B. Ates, Statistical Analyst (COSW).
  • Introduction of the PSA-LGU Data Sharing (PLDS) Project by Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy.
  • Updates on establishing a PSA-managed Civil Registry System (CRS) outlet in Siquijor, presented by Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy.
  • Presentation of the Three (3) Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) Resolutions for Approval.

 

 

 

The PSC, as the policymaking body for statistical matters, convenes quarterly meetings to address statistical challenges, other significant issues, and resolve statistical matters within the province. The Philippine Statistics Authority- Siquijor emphasizes the importance of comprehensive representation from provincial offices and agencies in tackling statistical issues. From insightful discussions to cooperative decision-making, this underscore our dedication governance based on data and sustainable development.
