The Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office launched the updating on National ID last Monday, June 3, 2024. This service allows registered persons to update their registered information in case of change of correction of entry/ies on their demographic information such as name, age, sex, nationality, marital status, and filiation. This initiative is in accordance with Section 11 of Republic Act (RA) No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act, and its revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).

As of June 10, 2024, the PhilSys Registration Team (PRT) successfully updated three (3) registered persons and the updating of National ID is free of charge.

Registered persons who need to update their information can visit PhilSys Fixed Registration Center at the Ground Floor, Siquijor Business and Convention Center, Poblacion, Siquijor, Siquijor and will be available on working hours Mondays to Fridays. They must present their Philippine identification (PhilID) or ePhilID with the applicable supporting documents. If the PhilID or ePhilID is misplaced or lost, the individual must submit a notarized affidavit of loss.

Once the update is completed, a new PhilSys Card Number (PCN) will be assigned to the registered person. Additionally, the Quick Response (QR) code printed on the old PhilID or ePhilID will be punctured or perforated to signify that it has been updated and is no longer valid.

The updating service of PhilSys is part of the continuous efforts to ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of the demographic data within the PhilSys database. It is essential for all registrants to have the correct information in their national ID to avoid any discrepancies or issues in its usage.
