Registered live births in Central Visayas equals to nine percent
A total of 29,000 (9.37%) registered live births were recorded in Region VII in the first quarter of 2018. Region VII ranked fourth in the highest number of live births recorded, and the highest among the regions of the Visayas. (Figure 1)
Sex ratio in Region VII equals 110 males over 100 females
More males (15,215 or 52%) were born than females (13,785 or 48%) in Central Visayas in the first quarter of 2018, which resulted to a sex ratio of 110 males per 100 females of live births. (Figures 2 & 3).
Cebu Province has the highest percentage distribution of live births in Q1 2018
Among the provinces in Central Visayas, Cebu recorded the highest number of live births for both sexes, male and female, of about 20,252 or 69.83%. Second on the list was Bohol of about 4,621 or 15.93%, followed by Negros Oriental of about 3,842 or 13.25%. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the lowest percentage distribution of live births with only 285 or 0.98%. (Figure 4)
Region VII records 11,366 death occurrences
A total of 11,366 death occurrences were recorded in Region VII in the first quarter of 2018. This supported the Region’s fifth ranking on the highest number of death occurrences in the same reference quarter. (Figure 5)
Six thousand two hundred ninety-nine or 55.42% of the death occurrences were males and 5,067 or 44.58% of the death occurrences were females. (Figure 6).
Cebu Province’s death occurrences toll to around seven thousand
Among the provinces in Region VII, Cebu recorded the highest number of death occurrences for both sexes of about 6, 931 (60.98%), second in rank was Bohol of about 2,293 (20.18%), third was Negros Oriental of about 1,937 (17.04%) and lastly, the lowest death occurrence, was in Siquijor of about 205 (1.80%). (Figure 7).
Marriages in Central Visayas in the first quarter of 2018 is 7.93%
A total of 8,085 (7.93%) number of marriages were recorded in Central Visayas in the first quarter of 2018. Region VII ranked fifth of the highest number of marriage occurrences in the country. (Figure 8).
Seventy-four marriages are recorded in Siquijor in Q1 2018
Among the provinces in Region VII, Cebu recorded the highest number of marriage occurrences with 5,004 (61.89%). This was seconded by Negros Oriental with 1,716 (21.22%) and followed by Bohol with 1,291 (15.96%). The lowest was recorded in Siquijor with only 74 (0.92%). (Figure 9)
