The government Information Officers in the province of Siquijor in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)- Siquijor, gathered on 7 February 2023 at Enrique Villanueva Conference Hall to discuss government projects and programs implemented in this province and other relevant updates from the different local and national line agencies. This is the first meeting held for the year 2023.
Each of the attendee Information Officer was given their time to disseminate each agency’s current activities and programs, which in turn served as information being brought to respective agency and to the public as well.
PSA, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office represented by RO II/ Designate Information Officer Rizalyn Teodora G. Postrado gave updates and highlighted the month-long celebration of the February 2023 Civil Registration Month and further enjoined the participants to fully support the undertakings of Civil Registration. They were encouraged for full support by initiating activities not just for this month’s celebration but all throughout the year. They were given salient features on Civil Registration and updates on the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) in Siquijor and that there is a need for every Siquijodnon to get into the picture wherein everyone is entitled to the basic right to have a name and a nationality, and that no one would be left behind.
The gathering was very timely for the month-long celebration of the Civil Registration Month. PSA, Siquijor was able to disseminate information relative to PSAs products and services.
Other agency attendees were the following: DOST-Siquijor Field Office, DA-PATCO of the Department of Agriculture, Siquijor Police Provincial Office, DILG Provincial Office, BJMP-Siquijor Provincial Office, Philippine Ports Authority- Siquijor, PCG-Siquijor, the Local Government Unit of Larena, Siquijor, MSWD-Siquijor, LGU-Enrique Villanueva, TESDA-Siquijor.
