The first ever National Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (1NCCRVS) was held on 1-3 September 2021 via video conferencing. On its third day was the awarding of the Outstanding Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) nationwide for the year 2020. This is when LCROs exemplary efforts are given credits with regards to their overall Civil Registration activities.
Siquijor being a small island province with six (6) municipalities was proud to have one (1) LCRO who was among the Top National Awardees for the year 2020. The LCRO of Siquijor, Siquijor headed by MCR Fernando Jose A. Pescante, Jr. bagged the 5th Place in the Medium Category and was recognized as one of the Hall of Fame awardees being a consistent awardee in five years.
This can be recalled that the LCRO of Siquijor, Siquijor belonged to the medium category with approximately 1,000 – 1,999 submitted civil registry documents. Timely submission of registered documents with quality entries was one of the categories being evaluated aside from the over and above activities of the LCROs.
Ten outstanding LCROs in each of the following categories: Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and Super Extra Large who have exhibited remarkable performance in CRVS was given due recognition. Through the LCRO awards, PSA intends to inspire and encourage everyone to be involved, and to actively participate in all CRVS initiatives, and be able to deliver quality services to the Filipino people amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
