Civil Registration is a continuous process and needs to be continually learned through series of lectures and trainings, be able to equip personnel and staff in handling Civil Registration concerns, being in the frontline service of the government and in providing the right information, to disseminate and share knowledge to their barangay constituents.

The participants for this undertaking were the forty-two (42) Barangay Chairmen in the Municipality of Siquijor.  Barangay Chairman or commonly known as the Punong Barangay is the highest elected official in the barangay and are considered as frontliners and are responsible when it comes to delivering basic services in the barangay level.

 

The activity was done on 19 August 2021 at GAD Building, Poblacion, Siquijor, Siquijor.  Resource persons for this activity are MCR Fernando Jose A. Pescante, Jr of LCRO-Siquijor, Siquijor and the undersigned together with RO I Ontolan with topics on the following:

a.    RA 9255

b.    RA 9858

c.    Legitimation                                                     

d.    RA 9048

e.    RA 10172

There were queries and clarifications addressed like on how to handle clerical and typographical errors in the birth records and other civil registry documents.  Certain cases pertaining to RA 9255, RA 9858 and on the process of Legitimation were being shared.  Other concerns raised were on the processing of Late Registration particularly for out-of-town births.  It was well-attended and concerns pertaining to the topic were addressed and given proper recommendations and actions.
