The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Negros Oriental successfully conducted the 2022 PSA-led Community- Based Monitoring System Data Turnover Ceremony to the Local Government Unit of Bais in Negros Oriental.

PSA Negros Oriental turned over the 2022 CBMS Data and Statistical Tables to the Local Chief Executive of Bais City, Hon. Luigi Marcel T. Goñi on 25 March 2024 at 2F Cultural Heritage Pasalubong Center, New Public Market, Bais City.

The activity was facilitated by the CBMS Focal Person, Mr. Harold Roy Infante and office-based personnel. Present during the activity were the City Councilors, CBMS Core Team members headed by Mr. Bemar D. Torres, the CPICAD Head, Ma’am Ma. Angeles Socorro A. Banogon, City Planning and Development Coordinator, the heads of the different Offices in LGU Bais, DICT-Provincial Head, Engr. Aurelio Tinapay, and other staff in the LGU. The Regional Director of PSA Region 7, Engr. Ariel E. Florendo, gave his Opening Remarks and Inspirational Message. The Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA- Negros Oriental, Engr. Ariel T. Fortuito presented the Highlights of 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Results.

Hon. Goñi delivered his acceptance message with full of heartfelt gratitude towards her co-workers in the Executive Unit, her staff, members of the CBMS Coordinating Board and to the Philippine Statistics Authority. Moreover, Ma’am Banogon, the CPDC, presented the Plans and Programs to be created and enhanced using the CBMS data.

The Data Turnover Ceremony is a conclusion to the continued support and commitment of LGU- Bais, PSA, and other partner agencies to continue working together for an improved quality of life for all. With the adoption of CBMS, the LGU may now generate updated disaggregated data necessary in targeting beneficiaries, conducting more comprehensive poverty analysis and needs prioritization, designing appropriate policies and interventions and monitoring impact over time.
