The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully conducted the 2022 PSA-led Community- Based Monitoring System Data Turnover Ceremony to the Local Government Units of San Jose, Bindoy, Amlan, Ayungon, Bayawan City, Canlaon City and Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental last 22 December 2023 at Manhattan Suites Inn, Dumaguete City.

The DTC was graced with the presence of the Regional Director of PSA 07, Engr. Ariel E. Florendo. The activity was facilitated by SuSS Maria Felida O. Generoso, CBMS Focal PersonHarold Roy Infante and some office-based personnel. Present during the activity were the following: San Jose Municipal Mayor, Hon. Mel Nick S. Logronio, Bindoy Municipal Mayor, Hon.  Eniego Jabagat, Amlan Municipal Mayor, Hon. Manuel Jose C. Sycip, Ayungon Municipal Mayor, Hon. Dennis Amancio, Canlaon City Mayor, Hon. Chubasco Cardenas, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs) - Mr. Edgar Martinez, OIC Ms. Lalaine J. Songcayauon, Mr. Robert Amaro, Mr. Randy Brando C. Woo, Ms.  Doris Y. Flores, Ms. Yolicelia C. Busmeon, and Ms. Erjien Tenefrancia, staff in the LGUs, and other PSA Office-Based personnel.

During the activity, CSS Ariel T. Fortuito presented the highlights of the results of the 2022 PSA-led CBMS in the seven (7) cities/municipalities in Negros Oriental. The Local Chief Executives and representatives delivered their acceptance messages with full of heartfelt gratitude towards the members of the CBMS Coordinating Board of their LGU and to the Philippine Statistics Authority. 

Moreover, the CPDC Ms. Flores of Canlaon City presented the Plans and Programs to be created and enhanced using the CBMS data. It focused more on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), Social Welfare and Development related registries and projects, Disaster risk reduction and management, updating of the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture and Fisheries and others.

With the adoption of CBMS, the LGU may now generate updated disaggregated data necessary in targeting beneficiaries, conducting more comprehensive poverty analysis and needs prioritization, designing appropriate policies and interventions and monitoring impact over time.
