The Philippine Statistics Authority- Regional Statistical Services Office 7 will conduct the Women and lnformation and Communications Technology (lCT) Development lndex (WIDI) Survey starting 31 January until 26 February 2022, including Saturdays and Holidays. A total of 2,517 randomly selected sample households in the region will be interviewed and it will be using the Computer-Assisted Personal lnterview (CAPI) mode of data collection.

This survey aims to enrich the domain of women and ICT by establishing key indicators that will capture the situation of women focusing on aspects of the Digital Economy, ICT Access and ICT Usage that are affecting women the most. This will be an important input in the formulation of appropriate ICT-based policies and programs to help women and girls in the productive use of ICTs. Major data items that will be gathered in the survey are the demographic characteristics (age, sex, marital status, and highest grade completed); ICT access, use and skills; Cybersecurity, data privacy and online safety; and Digital economy and e-commerce.

The PSA Central Visayas enjoins the public to support this survey of the PSA and DICT. Furthermore, the PSA encourages the sample households to accommodate the Field Interviewers or Statistical Researchers and provide truthful, complete and accurate information to the data collectors. Rest assured that individual data furnished by the respondents shall be kept strictly confidential in adherence to Section 26 of RA 10625. Public health and safety standards for the containment of the COVID-19 is strictly observed during the survey operations.
