A marriage is defined as a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with the law for the establishment of conjugal and family life.
Siquijor province recorded a total registered marriages of 366. The municipality of Siquijor holds the highest number of registered marriages among the other 6 municipalities, this is attributed to the Kasalan Ng Bayan Activity sponsored by the Local Government Unit of the said municipality.
Meanwhile, in 2022 registered marriages, the month of September accounted the highest number of registered marriages with 60 registered marriages recorded followed by the month of May with 48 registered marriages recorded and December at 40 registered marriages. April marked the lowest number with only 15 registered marriages. (Figure 2)
On the other hand, during the four quarters of 2022, third quarter recorded the most numbers of registered marriages, it reached up to 109 registered marriages recorded. While on the second quarter, registered marriages recorded 96, followed by first quarter in which 85 were registered marriages recorded and fourth quarter as the least with 76 registered marriages recorded. (Figure 3)
