Enrique Villanueva, Siquijor, 16 May 2024. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully conducted an LGU orientation on the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ) Data Collection, Service Facilities and Government Projects Listing. The orientation session was held at the EV Function Hall, Poblacion, Enrique Villanueva, Siquijor on 16 May 2024. This one (1) day activity aimed to equip barangay representatives with essential skills and knowledge for effective data collection and service facilities and government projects listing in every barangay.

The orientation was facilitated by representatives of PSA, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office in collaboration with the local government unit (LGU) of Enrique Villanueva. The orientation aims to collect information on the characteristics of barangays such as the type of facilities and establishment present in the barangay, and it also gathers an initial list of service facilities and government projects from barangays and municipalities which will serve as reference in the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS geotagging operations.

The collected data on barangay profile shall be used to update the urban-rural classification of barangays. Meanwhile, the listing of service facilities and government projects shall serve as a reference file in the conduct of geotagging of service facilities and government projects for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. Collectively, the data collected shall be used to come up with sound decisions in making programs and allocating resources for economic development and poverty alleviation. The collaboration between PSA and LGU in Enrique Villanueva underscores the commitment to achieving a comprehensive and accurate demographic profile, paving the way for more responsive and effective governance at the local level.
