Registered Marriages by Place of Occurrence

 

At a national level, a total of 449,428 registered marriages were recorded for the year 2022. Central Visayas has reported 38,008 or 8.5 percent of the total registered marriages in the Philippines. Among all regions, Region VII ranked fourth in terms of the highest number of registered marriages in the country.

Registered Marriages by Place of Occurrence in Central Visayas

 

In Central Visayas, Cebu Province contributed the highest number of registered marriages with 14,908 or 39.2 percent. Second in rank was Negros Oriental with 8,435 or 22.2 percent, followed by Bohol with 6,670 or 17.5 percent of the registered marriages. Meanwhile, Siquijor had the least number of registered marriages occurrence with 365 or 1.0 percent only. On other hand, for Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), City of Cebu had the highest number of marriages with 4,370 or 11.5 percent, City of Lapu-Lapu with 1,791 or 4.7 percent, and City of Mandaue with 1,469 or 3.9 percent. Moreover, the combined percent share of all HUCs in Cebu is 19.87 percent of the total registered marriages in the region.


Registered Marriages by Month and Daily Average in Central Visayas

 

In 2022, Central Visayas recorded the highest number of registered marriages in the month of June with 4,273 in total with a daily average of 142. Meanwhile, month of August had the least number of registered marriages with 2,220 and a daily average of 72.

Among all age group, aged 25-29 years has the highest registered marriages in 2022 comprising of 28,730 individuals of which 15,104 or 52.6 percent were female and 13,626 or 47.4 percent were male. Furthermore, aged 30-34 years ranked second with 19,507 individuals, 10,690 or 54.8 percent were males and 8,817 or 45.2 percent were females. Aged 35-39 was placed third with 7,551 individuals constituting of 4,453 or 60 percent of male and 3,098 or 40 percent of female. Meanwhile, aged Under 15 years old recorded with lowest age group with zero registration.

In 2022, Cebu has the highest number of Timely Registered Marriages with 14,804 in total followed by Negros Oriental with 8,086, Bohol with 6,629 and Siquijor with 362. In HUC’s, City of Cebu contributed the highest number of timely registered marriages with 4,322, followed by City of Lapu-Lapu with 1,785 and on the lowest rank was City of Mandaue with 58.

 

On the other hand, Negros Oriental has the highest Late Registered Marriages with 349 followed by Cebu with 104, Bohol with 41 and Siquijor with 3. In HUCs, City of Mandaue recorded the highest late registration with 58 followed by City of Cebu with 48 and lastly City of Lapu-Lapu with 6. In total, Timely Registered Marriages contributed to 37,399 or 98.4 percent while Late Registration has accounted 609 or 1.6 percent.
