Cebu City, Philippines – In celebration of the 11th anniversary of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), PSA Cebu organized a series of activities throughout the month of September, highlighting the theme “Strengthening Data Stewardship Towards a Responsive Public Service.” These events aimed to foster collaboration, and learnings, among employees while emphasizing the importance of effective data management and public service.
The festivities began with the Opening Activity on 3 September 2024, featuring a lecture on Laws and Regulations on Government Expenditures held at the PSA-Cebu activity area. The informative session provided employees with a deeper understanding of fiscal policies and their relevance to ensuring transparency and accountability in government spending.
On the anniversary day itself, 12 September 2024, PSA Cebu hosted a full day of activities, blending reflection, learning, and team building. The morning began with a Thanksgiving Mass at the PSA-Cebu activity area, offering employees the chance to reflect and express gratitude for their collective efforts over the past year. Following the mass, two important lectures were held: the first on Gender and Development Management, promoting awareness of gender equality and inclusive practices in the workplace, and the second on Agricultural Statistics, which emphasized the role of data in driving the agricultural sector forward. In the afternoon, PSA Cebu employees came together for a Team-Building Activity at the San Roque Sports Complex in Cebu City. This session aimed to strengthen teamwork, boost morale, and foster camaraderie among employees in a more relaxed and engaging environment.
To close the month-long celebration, on 27 September 2024, PSA-Cebu personnel are encouraged to support the "I LOVE POPCEN-CBMS" initiative by conducting rescue or saturation operations, emphasizing the vital role of accurate data collection and management in providing timely and effective public services. Through these operations, PSA-Cebu aims to enhance the responsiveness of government programs by ensuring comprehensive and reliable data for decision-making processes.
Ultimately, PSA Cebu not only celebrated its 11 years of service but also reinforced its dedication to enhancing public service through data stewardship, teamwork, and community engagement.
