PSA Headquarters, Manila – Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office participated in a five-day writeshop on the preparation of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) dissemination fora. The event, held from 07 to 11 October 2024, at PSA Headquarters in Quezon City, aimed to enhance the skills of PSA personnel in developing effective communication materials for public dissemination.

Jill Bernadette C. Abing, Senior Statistical Specialist of PSA-Siquijor, and Cherry Rose B. Ates, Statistical Analyst (COSW), attended the writeshop in person, representing PSA-Siquijor. They participated in hands-on sessions on creating effective press releases, PowerPoint presentations, infographics, and social media content to improve the presentation of statistical data.

In addition to the in-person participants, representatives from Siquijor and other Central Visayas provinces joined the writeshop online with face-to-face setting at the Golden Prince Hotel in Cebu City. Mark Philip Hinaut, Information System Specialist (COSW) from PSA-Siquijor, participated virtually, alongside other PSA personnel from the Central Visayas region.

The writeshop aimed to strengthen the participants' skills in presenting PPA data clearly and effectively, ensuring that the public and local government units understand its importance in provincial economic planning and development. The knowledge gained will be instrumental in improving PSA-Siquijor’s communication and outreach efforts, as well as those of PSA offices across the country.
