The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted the January 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2021 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) 2nd Visit this January 2022 to 1st week of February 2022. January 2022 LFS desires to collect data and information on households about the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population, while the 2021 Family (FIES) 2nd Visit desires to collect data and information about family income and expenditure of every household. These surveys aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market, to determine the income distribution, levels of living and spending patterns, and the degree of inequality among families, and provides inputs in the estimation of the country’s poverty threshold and incidence.
The seven-day provincial training was held in Coco Grove Beach Resort, Tubod, San Juan, Siquijor last 03 January 2022 to 09 January 2022. There were 27 Enumerators (ENs) being hired to conduct the survey. Also, 2 Assistant Provincial Focal Persons (APFPs) were hired to assist the Provincial Focal Person in reviewing and editing the encoded data in the tablet. Regular employees were involved also to observe interviews and discuss with the interviewer any error committed in asking questions.
The enumeration started on 10 January 2022 and lasted 05 February 2022. The January 2022 LFS and 2021 FIES 2nd Visit operation is applying the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) and is using Android Tablet.
Out of 770 sample households 767 were successfully interviewed and 3 households (one-man household) were permanently moved out. Response rate for the province of Siquijor is 99.61 percent.
