Cebu City, 30 October 2024 – The 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Elimination was successfully held at Cebu Technological University – Main Campus, celebrating the brightest young minds in statistics from universities across the province. The event highlighted outstanding performances from participating students, underscoring the importance of statistical literacy in the Philippines.
Ma. Crista Nina M. Ariosa of the University of San Carlos claimed the top spot, followed closely by Charles Vincent I. Abaniel of UC-METC in second place and Elisha Kinth C. Bullecer of the University of the Philippines Cebu in third. Additional top winners included Yza Hilary A. Alagon from the University of San Carlos (4th), Andrea Bielle M. Gallo from the University of the Philippines Cebu (5th), and Allan Ray T. Pulgo from Cebu Normal University (6th).
The Board of Judges was led by Mr. Roxan L. Mujeres, Bank Officer IV from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. He was joined by Ms. Jessica N. Pagador, Statistician A from Cebu Port Authority, and Dr. Pamela A. Rodemio, Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics from the Department of Education.
The PSQ continues to foster excellence in statistical skills and data analysis among Filipino youth, equipping them to contribute to a data-driven future.
