The Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Lazi, led by Municipal Civil Registrar Lee Hines L. Largo, in collaboration with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office, successfully conducted a one-day mobile registration held on 10 September 2024. The event was part of the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project and took place at Simacolong, Lazi, Siquijor.

The mobile registration initiative aimed to assist individuals lacking proper birth records. During the event, the team addressed the needs of nine (9) clients who had claimed to have no existing birth records. Their applications were processed for verification and forwarded to the Central Office (CO) to obtain negative certifications, a crucial step in validating their lack of documentation and facilitating further action.

In addition to handling the birth registration requests, the team also managed feedback and other concerns from clients. One particular client provided feedback that required immediate action, and the staff ensured that the issue was addressed promptly. The team also catered to other inquiries related to birth certificates, providing vital assistance and clarification to those in need.

The PSA team, led by Statistical Specialist II Rizalyn Teodora G. Postrado, together with RO I John Claude Dag-uman, ABRC Laika Jane M. Anoos, played a key role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the mobile registration. Their collaborative efforts helped facilitate efficient processing and resolution of client concerns. The successful conduct of the mobile registration reflects the commitment of the joint efforts of the LCRO and PSA to improve access to essential civil registration services to the community.

By bringing these services directly to those in need, this activity not only streamlines the registration process but also addresses the immediate concerns and inquiries of the residents.

The mobile registration event underscores the ongoing efforts of both local and national agencies to enhance public services and support individuals in obtaining necessary documentation. This initiative aims to reduce barriers, expedite documentation processes, and ensure that all community members have access to vital records.
