Cebu City, September 17, 2024 — The Philippine Statistics Authority Cebu Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Cebu PSO) is pleased to announce the commencement of the Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI) for the third quarter of 2024. This vital survey, conducted in collaboration with the national PSA, plays a crucial role in providing essential economic data.

The QSPBI aims to collect quarterly information on various aspects of business and industry, including employment figures, compensation trends, production values, revenue streams, inventory levels, and capacity utilization. These data serve as critical inputs for the generation of the Quarterly National Accounts of the Philippines (QNAP) and the construction of the Quarterly Economic Indices (QEI).

In the third quarter of 2024, PSA Cebu PSO will engage eight (8) skilled Statistical Researchers (SRs) to visit a total of 511 sample establishments. These establishments have been carefully selected to represent various sectors of the local economy. The SRs will distribute pre-addressed questionnaires to these establishments, beginning on September 23rd and continuing until October 9th, 2024.

Following the reference quarter, on October 10, 2024, the SRs will initiate the collection of completed questionnaires. Prior to their visits, they will contact respondents to provide reminders and schedule appointments. Rest assured that all data provided by the sample establishments will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, in accordance with Section 26 of Republic Act No. 10625.
