The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in coordination with the Philippine Statistical Association conducted the 27th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) - Provincial Elimination last Thursday, 12 October 2023 at 1:00 PM. It was held at the Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas – Dumaguete City.

There were five (5) schools who participated in the competition and these were as follows:

1. St. Paul University – Dumaguete (SPUD);

2. STI College;

3. Colegio de Santa Catalina de Alejandria (COSCA);

4. Metro Dumaguete College (MDC); and

5. Asian College.

Furthermore, Ms. Alena A. Barobac of St. Paul University was this year’s champion. Mr. Beau Anthon M. Bantigue of Asian College was the First Runner-Up and Mr. R-Jay H. Arizobal of the same school was the Second Runner-Up. The champion has received a trophy, token and a cash worth P5,000.00. Second Runner-Up received a trophy and a cash worth P4,000.00 while the Third Runner-Up received a trophy and a cash worth P3,000.00. The three (3) of them will be competing in the PSQ Regional Elimination that will be held sometime on November 2023 in Cebu City.

The board of judges of this year’s 27 PSQ were as follows:

1. Philippine Statistics Authority;

2. Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas;

3. Provincial Planning and Development Office;

4. Department of Foreign Affairs; and

5. Department of Trade and Industry.

The said competition ended at 5:00 PM.
