September 17, 2019 marked the 48th Adlaw Sa Probinsya Sa Siquijor, by virtue of the Republic Act No 6398 dated September 17, 1971, which provided the separation of Siquijor as a regular province that composed six (6) municipalities, independent of Negros Oriental.

The Provincial Government of Siquijor has lined various activities that highlighted the said celebration. Opening of the sportsfest was done on 6 September 2019 while Opening of the Agri-Tourism Trade Fair was on 14 September 2019.

Meanwhile, Halad sa Katawhan was slated on 16 September 2019 at the Dugukanan sa Kapitolyo, Provincial Capitol, Polangyuta, Siquijor, Siquijor.  The said activity took part in delivering essential services and programs of local and national line agencies of the government which aimed at bringing the people/community closer to the government services.  Also, included in the list of services offered are the following:  free haircut and free massage and nail care.

PSA, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office during this activity catered to Civil Registration referrals and queries.  A total of 56 clients visited and were entertained with their respective concerns.  Concerns and queries channeled were on the following: 1. Late Registration of vital events; 2. Inconsistencies in the entries of civil registry documents; 3. Legitimation process; 4. Out-of-Town Registration of Births; 5. Facts about RA 9255.

This was represented by the Registration Officer II Rizalyn Teodora G. Postrado together with Adm Aide VI Ontolan and Diana Rose Balongag to assist in the said activity.

This formed part of the continuing thrust of the office in linking with the other agencies and to the people, in general, being committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics and efficient civil registration services to the public.

In return, the Provincial Government of Siquijor headed by the Vice-Governor Mei Ling Q. Brown for this activity expressed their heartfelt gratitude to PSA, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office, for having cooperated and participated in the activities in celebration of the “48th Adlaw sa Probinsya sa Siquijor”.
