PSA, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office had witnessed and extended assistance to the Local Government Unit of Siquijor, Siquijor during the Free Mass Wedding or the Kasalan Ng Bayan on 8 September 2023. Seventeen (17) couples tied the knot in the presence of the Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Siquijor, Siquijor – Rev Msgr. Ramon L. Duran, Ph.D., P.C. held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church.

The activity was one of the highlights of the 51st Araw Ng Bayan celebration and to support and strengthen the purpose, a resolution was made for this particular event, “A Resolution Exempting Couples Who Will Join the Kasalang Bayan on 8 September 2022 from the payment of fees due to this LGU.” It is believed that a family whose foundation is lodged in faith will never falter amidst the turbulence life may bring, as family is the basic unit of the society. Thus, the Municipality of Siquijor is promoting a good foundation of a family which begins in the marriage ceremony. PSA,Siquijor represented by RO II Postrado, OIC Maghanoy and Ms. Balongag assisted in the signing of Certificates of Marriage. It was made sure that the pen in signing were colored black, likewise, they were reminded that before affixing their signatures, they are going to check all the data and necessary information entered in the marriage document.
