The month-long celebration of the 33rd Civil Registration Month was highlighted by various and different activities suited for the event.  This was wrapped up by personal hand over of copies of the late registration of births thru PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP).  The original copies of the duly registered birth certificates from the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) where their births occurred were handed personally to the recipients.

MCR Fernando Jose A. Pescante, Jr of Siquijor, Siquijor, MCR Veronica A. Calibo of Larena, Siquijor, MCR Lee Hines L. Largo of Lazi, Siquijor and MCR Nonito J. Manginsay of San Juan, Siquijor  were all present and witnessed the distribution of the owner’s copy of the birth certificates.

All of them convey their feelings of gratitude for their births were already registered at their respective birth places and that they can use the document in all their personal and legal transactions. One recipient expressed and exclaimed and said in bisaya, “Maka-eskuyla na gyod ko, kay naa na ko’y birth certificate!”.   And that concludes how important the document which establishes the identity of a person.
