The annual gathering of the City/ Municipal Civil Registrars in Region VII and the Regional Seminar Workshop on Civil Registrars (RACIR-7 convention) was hosted by the Province of Siquijor.  It was slated on 26-28 March 2019 held at GAD Building, Poblacion, Siquijor.   Siquijor hosted same activity in 2012 and after seven (7) years, the province took again the challenge.  As host province, the Civil Registrars Association in Siquijor Province (CRASP) headed by its President, MCR Fernando Jose A. Pescante, Jr., led the annual gathering.

It was a fun-filled activity, since the venue was not concentrated in one area.  The Opening Ceremony and Learnings on the first day was conducted at the capital town of Siqujor.  On the second day, the learnings were done at the Convention Hall, Salagdoong Beach Resort in the Municipality of Maria, a 28 km drive from the capital town of Siquijor.

Topics shared during the three-day convention were the following:  1.Data Privacy Act (RA 10173) by Provincial Prosecutor Ulysses C. Andora;  2.Unified ID System by Regional Director Ariel E. Florendo;  3. Ease  of Doing Business (RA 11032) by Dir. Alice May A. Parcon; 4.Updates on Jurisprudence by Atty. Evangeline T. Abatayo.  There were sharing of experiences by the national awardee LCROs in Region 7 and LCRO-Siquijor, Siquijor was proud to be one of those.  Updates on RACIR-7 was also tackled.

Meanwhile, RACIR-7 participants were formally welcomed thru the planned and organized social night on the first day.  There was a fellowship dinner and presentations from the four provinces and PSA, Siquijor Provincial Office personnel.

A total of 120 City/ Municipal Civil Registrars/ participants coming from the four (4) provinces in Region 7 attended and participated.
