Bohol ranked 3rd in the number of registered births
Bohol ranked third in Central Visayas in the total number of registered live births in the first quarter of 2022. There were 3,918 registered live births in the province from January to March 2022, which translated to 14.6% percent of the total registered live births in Central Visayas. (Figure 1)
Higher registered live births
Preliminary count of registered live births in the first quarter of 2022 recorded higher than the count in the same quarter of 2021. Live births in Bohol increased by 159 or 12.3%, from the record of 1,291 in January 2021 to 1,450 in January 2022. For the month of February, live births increased by 101 or 9.5%, from 1,059 in 2021 to 1,160 in 2022. Lastly, for the month of March, live births increased by 143 or 12.3%, from 1,165 in 2021 to 1,308 in 2022. (Figure 2)
2nd highest number of deaths in the region
Among the four (4) provinces in Region 7, Bohol had the second highest number of registered deaths in the first quarter of 2022. In January to March 2022, there were 2,941 registered deaths in the province or equivalent to 19.9% percent of the total registered deaths in Central Visayas. This translated to an average of 32 deaths per day. (Figure 3)
More deaths in 2022
Preliminary count of registered deaths in the first quarter of 2022 recorded higher than the count in the same quarter of 2021. Deaths in Bohol increased by 343 or 44.3%, from the record of 774 in January 2021 to 1,117 in January 2022. For the month of February, deaths increased by 200 or 26.8%, from 747 in 2021 to 947 in 2022. Lastly, for the month of March, deaths increased by 41 or 4.9%, from 836 in 2021 to 877 in 2022. (Figure 4)
Bohol ranked 3rd in the number of registered marriages
In Central Visayas, Bohol placed third among the four (4) provinces in the total number of registered marriages in the first quarter of 2022. There were 1,368 registered marriages in the province from January to March 2022, which represented 15.3% percent of the total registered marriages in the region. (Figure 5)
March had the lowest number of marriage registrations both in 2021 and 2022
In Bohol, preliminary count of registered marriages in the first quarter of 2022 was recorded at 1,368, which was lower than the 1,421 record of the same period in 2021. Marriages decreased by 51 or -8.3%, from the record of 615 in January 2021 down to 564 in January 2022. In February, marriages also decreased by 51 or -10.0%, from 508 in 2021 to 457 in 2022. On the other hand, marriages increased by 49 or 16.4% in March, from 298 in 2021 to 347 in 2022. Overall, in the first quarter of both 2021 and 2022, January was the most popular month for couples to tie the knot. (Figure 6)
