The Philippine Statistics Authority, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office presently conducts the Third Level Training of the 2021 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE) in preparation for the field enumeration in the months of May to July 2021.  It is a three-day training attended by regular personnel together with the hired Field Interviewers (FIs).  The training was conducted at PSA, Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office on 26-28 April 2021.

The 2021 ULE adopts the slogan which read as follows, “Providing Statistics for a Globally Competitive Economy”.  It is a nationwide undertaking which aims to provide an updated and reliable sampling frame for the census and surveys of establishments and enterprises.  Thus, further aims to capture the changes in the distribution and characteristics of establishments due to emerging industries and the current business trends.  The nationwide undertaking is necessary and helps to assess the changes brought by the pandemic and some natural calamities that happened in 2020.

This statistical undertaking is conducted by virtue of the Republic Act No. 10625, known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013 dated 12 September 2013, in which it shall be the policy of the State to effect the necessary and proper changes in the organizational and functional structures of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) in order to rationalize and promote efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of statistical services.  And all the data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries and surveys shall be held with strict adherence to confidentiality of information.

PSA, Siquijor is enjoining all kinds of establishments in the province to support and cooperate in the said undertaking since economic censuses/surveys, like this, will help us evaluate our country’s economic performance, and provide indicators that are useful to institutions and entrepreneurs.
