City of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental - The Philippine Statistics Authority - Negros Oriental Provincial Office spearheads the celebration of the 33rd Civil Registration Month (CRM) in the province of Negros Oriental. The month-long celebration started off with an Opening Program, Thanksgiving Mass, Motorcade, and Zumba session held on Wednesday, 01 February 2023.
The opening program held in PSA Negros Oriental Provincial Office included a brief discussion on the background of Civil Registration Month, presentation of Calendar of Activities, and Updates on the Services Offered by the Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet. It was followed by a Thanksgiving Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Ramonito P. Maata and attended by PSA Negros Oriental personnel.
At two o’clock Wednesday afternoon, a Motorcade activity was held in the Municipality of Sibulan, Negros Oriental. The said motorcade was actively participated by PSA Negros Oriental personnel, regular and casual employees and job order workers of LGU Sibulan, personnel from Philippine National Police (PNP) Sibulan and Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Sibulan, and staff of the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Sibulan, headed by their Municipal Civil Registrar, Mr. Andrew C. Banquerigo.
The kick-off ceremony ended with a Zumba session attended by the regular staff, COSWs, and on-the-job trainees of PSA Negros Oriental.
The following are the activities to be conducted by PSA Negros Oriental Provincial Office in relation to the 33rd Civil Registration Month celebration:
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682 signed on 28 January 1991 by the late President Corazon Aquino, the month of February was declared as the Civil Registration Month. The 33rd Civil Registration Month celebration carries the theme, “PSA@10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation.”
The CRM celebration aims to remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons and enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents. This celebration also advocates the improvement of the country’s Civil Registration and Vital Statistics.
The Local Civil Registry Offices of Negros Oriental are enjoined to organize and conduct activities for the month-long celebration, such as hanging of streamers, conduct of mobile registration, Kasalang Bayan, and conduct of lectures and trainings on Civil Registration.
