The Central Visayas Regional Statistics Committee (CV-RSC) was established in the region by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Board by virtue of PSA Board Resolution No. 05 s. 2015 to provide direction and guidance to regional and local statistical development activities.
The RSC conducted its 1st Quarter 2019 regular meeting on 19 February 2019 at Bohol Island State University (BISU)- Main Campus Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Among the agenda discussed were Updates on Regional Statistical Development Program, Updates on the submission of the Sustainable Development Goals and its indicators, and List of PSA Data Results Calendar of Press Release for 2019.
Also, a presentation on the Latest Result of the Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) by CSS Leopoldo P. Alfanta, Jr. of PSA Region VII. APIS is a survey that gathers data that can be used to generate income and non-income based poverty indicators to assess and monitor the poverty situation in the country. This also includes questions about access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. Moreover, the presentation also includes the multidimensional poverty index (MPI) based on the results of the 2016 and 2017 APIS. The MPI is a measure that intends to capture deprivations on various dimensions. Thus, the MPI provides information on which dimension the Filipinos are most deprived in.
