The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Oriental will celebrate the 34th National Statistics Month with the theme, “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines”.
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, "Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month,” the NSM is annually observed nationwide. The NSM aims to: 1) promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of the society; and 2) elicit the cooperation and support of the general-public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
With this, PSA Negros Oriental is encouraging the Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs) and the public to participate in the celebration of the 34th NSM. Several lined-up activities in the province for the month-long celebration include conduct of Statistical Quiz Bee, Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ), Information Dissemination, Poster Making and Slogan Making Contests, Training on Microsoft Literacy, Infographics, Special and Press Releases, Statistical Exhibits and among others.
