The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in coordination with the Philippine Statistical Association conducted the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) - Provincial Elimination last Wednesday, 30 October 2024 at 1:00 PM. It was held at the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) – Negros Oriental Provincial Council, Dumaguete City.

Riana Marie P. Mallo of Silliman University (SU) declared as top winner followed by Jezryll James A. Ege of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) as 1st runner up; and Yvette Julienne B. Pis-an of Saint Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) placed 2nd runner up.

Eight different colleges/universities in the province vied for the top three spots to become the representatives for the PSQ regional championships. These include Asian College (ACSAT), Foundation University (FU), Metro Dumaguete College (MDC), Negros Maritime College Foundation Inc. (NMCFI), Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), Silliman University (SU), Saint Paul University – Dumaguete (SPUD), and STI College.

The board of judges of this year’s 28th PSQ were: 1) Philippine Statistics Authority; 2) Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas; 3) Provincial Planning and Development Office; 4) Department of Labor and Employment; and 5) Provincial Cooperative and Development Council (PCDC).
