The July 2019 Labor Force Survey (LFS) will have two (2) rider surveys for this round: The 2019 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) and the Awareness of Households on Philippine Competition Commission. The enumeration period will be from July 8-31, 2019.
The regular Quarterly Labor Force Survey will gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population and used the moving past week reference period to measure labor force and employment characteristics.
The 2019 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) is the thirteenth in a series of poverty indicators surveys implemented nationwide. This gathers data to generate non-income-based poverty indicators for monitoring the poverty situation in the country. The gathered data will be used as inputs to the development of Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) and the indicators from Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) module serve as basis for monitoring Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
The Survey on Awareness and Perception of Households on the Philippine Competition Act and the Philippine Competition Commission will gather data on the public’s awareness on the benefits of market competition and the mandate of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC).
A total of twenty-four (24) enumerators were hired by the PSA – Cebu Provincial Statistical Office for these surveys which will cover the 125 Enumeration Areas from 83 barangays coming from the four (4) domains: Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-lapu City, and Other Cebu.
